About
Kyle Gordon
Known for his energetic and genre-fusing style both behind the podium and as a bassist, Los Angeles-based musician Kyle Gordon has gained renown as an emerging figure in the American orchestral scene. Closely mentored by renowned Los Angeles orchestrators and arrangers, Gordon has passionately contributed to some of Hollywood’s biggest spectacles, including Oppenheimer, Star Wars IX, and Black Panther 2.
Gordon’s conducting résumé includes engagements with esteemed ensembles like the London Symphony Orchestra, Cape Symphony, and Emo Orchestra. While being comfortable in the symphonic world, Gordon has also conducted sessions in major musical hubs like Los Angeles, New York, and Nashville.
Before transitioning to conducting, Gordon first forged a path as a performer, playing nationally across the USA. A highlight in Gordon’s performing career came with his Carnegie Hall debut in 2019 as a double bassist, where his original composition for double bass captivated audiences and garnered widespread acclaim.
In winter 2023, Gordon premiered his multimedia orchestral show, The Roaring ‘20s, with the Cape Symphony, receiving glowing reviews for its opulent score reminiscent of Hollywood's Golden Age.
Having made a strong impression in the symphonic world, Gordon was enlisted by the Los Angeles Philharmonic to offer technical musical direction in their media department as a score reader.
Looking ahead, Gordon’s 2024-2025 season promises an exciting album release with the London Symphony Orchestra featuring the Dallas String Quartet. Additionally, the season will include the premiere of a new work celebrating the lush sounds of Hollywood's Golden Age and British Light Music.
A native of Los Angeles, Gordon attended the prestigious University of North Texas jazz program, where he earned his undergraduate degree and later attained a Master of Music in Jazz Composition.
